Toddington Childcare is an organisation with charity status, registered with Ofsted and members of the Early Years Learning Alliance. We work closely with Central Bedfordshire Council and receive advice and training from the Children’s Workforce Learning and Development Team.
Our voluntary status requires a committee to exist and operate. Our committee consists of parent volunteers, who are actively encouraged to join, giving support with fundraising events and having overall responsibility of the setting and its practices. Any additional profit generated from fundraising events, donations and/or grants are utilised to access training for staff and renew resources and equipment for our children, so we can continue to provide high quality childcare and education.
Our Vision
At Toddington Childcare we aim to provide our children with a fun, safe and stimulating learning environment, which is inclusive for all Early Years children in our care. This is to ensure all children have equal opportunities so they are able to achieve their best possible outcomes across the Early Years Foundation Stage seven areas of learning and development.
We believe that every child is unique and we work in partnership with our children’s parents, carers and families, listening to and gathering information and a shared understanding of their children’s individual needs and interests. This supports smooth transitions, so that our children can become happy, healthy, confident and resilient, with a passion for learning.
We pride ourselves on providing a varied EYFS curriculum, which values the importance of the outdoor environment and promotes our children’s characteristics of effective learning, supporting their play and exploration, active learning, critical thinking and problem solving.
Toddington Childcare & Forest School is a fully operational wrap-around setting, providing full day care for children aged 12 months to 9 years and Early Years education for children aged 12 months to 5 years. We are committed to providing all of our children with a fun, safe and stimulating learning environment and follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework. In 2017, we proudly gained our Forest School status, which enables us to enrich our children’s outdoor learning opportunities and experiences.
